Shell V-Power Racing Host Formula Ford Stars

Borland Racing Developments driver Jayden Ojeda was one of the few lucky Formula Ford drivers that were treated to a tour of the Shell V-Power Racing Team garage, at the recent round at Winton, and he thoroughly enjoyed the experience!

Formula Ford competitors Jayden Ojeda, Hunter McElrea, Harrison Jones and Mitchell Maddren toured the Shell V-Power DJR Team Penske garage, being treated to an up-close look at the team’s Supercars by Scott McLaughlin and Fabian Coulthard.

“It was a great chance to meet Scott and Fabian; they both raced Formula Ford and have progressed to the very top level of Australian motorsport,” Ojeda said. “A lot of us are hoping to forge a career in Supercars, and support from companies like Shell Helix creates opportunities for us to meet the people we look up to.”

“I would like to thank the Shell V-Power Racing Team and Fabian Coulthard and Scott McLaughlin for giving our drivers a tour of the team garage and cars at Winton on the weekend” he added.

Shell Helix has thrown its support behind rising Australian motorsport stars by sponsoring the Australian Formula Ford Series at last weekend’s Virgin Australia Supercars SuperSprint event in Winton. Shell Helix spokesperson, Denis Urtizberea, said he was proud Shell Helix supports grass roots motorsport.

“We know Formula Ford is a great junior development category as 10 current Supercars drivers are former national Formula Ford champions,” said Denis. “The sponsorship means throughout the 2017 Formula Ford series, all cars will use and benefit from Shell Helix Ultra,” he said.

“Shell’s expansive sponsorship support also offers young Formula Ford drivers unique experience such as meeting the drivers from the Shell V-Power DJR Team Penske Supercars team – Fabian Coulthard and Scott McLaughlin.”

The next round of the Australian Formula Ford Series is at Queensland Raceway, 8-9 July.

Jayden Ojeda is proudly supported by Borland Racing Developments, VHT, SMS Diesel Spares, Sakura Filteration, Febi, Engine Sensors Australia, OE Germany, Pure Traveller, AMC, Valley Fitness St Marys, Stone Gaskets, Mahle-Izumi and CH Robinson Freight Forwarders.
