Ojeda’s Rookie Super Saturday
Jayden had an incredible Super Saturday in his solo debut in the Repco Supercars Championship.
The Walkinshaw Andretti United wildcard #27 Commodore driver made a solid start to the weekend to finish 17th in race 1, included a lengthy battle with Brad Jones Racing’s Bryce Fullwood .
Jayden had a great start to proceedings at the Pizza Hut Winton SuperSprint, making it through to the second phase of qualifying, and ending up 19th, three spots ahead of team-mate Nick Percat.
“Solid first race with the big boys, it was awesome to get into part two of qualifying and have a solid 36-lap race as well, so a huge thanks to the team for today.” said Ojeda.
“ Had a clean race and finished two places up on where I started! Lets do it all again tomorrow”.
“I’m pretty stoked with that, a solid first day as my solo debut, I’m really happy with my performance. I just wanted to put a nice weekend together and gather some nice results.” he added.
Walkinshaw Andretti United team-mates Chaz Mostert and Percat finished fourth and 14th respectively.
Sunday starts with two qualifying sessions from 9:40am, before two further 36-lap races to finish the weekend.
Jayden’s 27 Holden ZB Commodore car is sporting backing from East Coast Lubes and Mobil 1 and will also carry support from Morris, New Age Caravans, Walkinshaw Performance, City Hino, Johnny H Adventures, Metropole, Vantage Freight, Criticool Services, AJM Transport, and UMS.
“A massive thank you to all of the WAU partners who got behind the program as well as all of my personal partners as well!”.
