Ojeda Back for Bathurst 6 Hour.

Penrith local Supercar driver Jayden Ojeda has announced he will return to the Mountain again for his second endurance race at the iconic circuit this year for the Bathurst 6 Hour Production Car race.

Jayden has confirmed an assault on the 2023 Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour, in a BMW M4 in the outright X class, along with car owner Simon Hodges.

Branded ‘Bathurst’s biggest enduro’, with 60 cars and 156 drivers currently confirmed across the eight classes, it is the most prestigious production car endurance race around the nation’s most famous racetrack.

Secure Wealth team, made their debut in this event in 2017 with a BMW 135i before switching to the BMW M4 in 2020. Jayden has competed with the team in both 2019 and 2021.

“I am really excited to be joining up with Simon Hodges in the secure welfare BMW M4 for the Bathurst six hour again this year. It’s been an enjoyable challenge developing the M4 with Simon over the past couple of years” said Jayden, “each year we have made massive leaps forward with the car” he added.

The car has again been prepared by Aaron Grech of Aaron Grech Motorsport, with engineering support over the race weekend to come from Jack Belloti, from Supercars team Matt Stone Racing.

“The production car series is always a bit of a car development race each year. You show up to the track thinking you’ve come leaps and bounds from where you were the previous year, just to find the whole field has made a massive jump as well. You can never be too sure where you sit till you roll out for practice one, and then again in qualifying when everyone turns the engine up” Ojeda says.

“I’ve been coaching Simon over the past couple of years, and in the last year he’s done a heap of laps and really developed as a driver, so I’m really looking forward to this weekend. It will be exciting to see where we sit after six hours, and if things go well hopefully we can come away with a podium, or possibly even a win” he said.

“A huge thank you to my partners Secure Wealth Advisers, City Hino, Johnny H and Nepean Regional Security who have supported me for this year’s 6 Hour attack!” he added.

The Hi-Tec Oils Bathurst 6 Hour takes places at Mount Panorama in Bathurst on 7-9 April.

Full coverage will be broadcast live on Saturday (Stan Sport / Nine Network) and Sunday (Stan Sport) this year.
