Ojeda for Bathurst 12 Hour.

Penrith local Supercar driver Jayden Ojeda has announced he will make his LIQUI-MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour debut aboard KTM’s XBOW GT2 with M Motorsport and Vantage Racing.

Jayden, who makes his 12 Hour debut after having already completed three Bathurst 1000’s, will join owner David Crampton along with experienced GT drivers Glen Wood and Trent Harrison in racing for class honours.

The KTM XBOW will return to Mount Panorama in the Invitational class in GT2. The KTM will go head to head with a wide range of cars in the Invited class, from a wild SIN R1 to a Porsche 911 GT3 Cup Gen II car, after last year becoming the first GT2 car to race in the Bathurst 12 Hour.

“I’m really looking forward to getting stuck into it” said Jayden, “It will be my first Bathurst 12 hour. Having done the Six Hour and the Bathurst 1000 I have had a taste of what endurance racing is like at Bathurst now.”

“The 12 hour is a whole new challenge” he added, “especially having to take on a new car in the KTM XBOW GT2 which has ABS and traction control, which are all new to me in a race car.”

“Getting my head around the traction control and ABS will be fun! The GT2 is an exciting car to drive but we won’t be contending with the GT3’s for the outright win, we will be pushing hard to try to get a victory in the invitational class.”

Car owner David Crampton is confident he has the driver line up and race car to compete. “With a years’ experience under our belts we know what the car is capable of and we’re looking forward to a competitive race”

“The driving line-up is exciting. Glen and Trent have been driving with me a for a long time, and Jayden is a great talent and it’s good to be able to give a young guy a shot. He and I train together and do a lot of simulator work and coaching, so it makes sense to have him in the car. It’s exciting.” Crampton added.

“I’m really looking forward to joining the M Motorsport crew, I do a fair bit of training with David on his simulator locally which we’ve been on over the past year towards, so it’s awesome to get to share the car with him along with Glen Wood and Trent Harrison.” Ojeda said.

“It’ll be awesome to start the year with the 12 Hour, it’s the first major event of the season here in Australia. We had a great test last week at Phillip Island and I’m really looking forward to the challenge of the 12 Hour”.

“A huge thank you to Vantage Racing, City Hino, Johnny H and Nepean Regional Security who have supported me for my first 12 Hour attack!” he added.

The 2023 LIQUI-MOLY Bathurst 12 Hour will be held from February 3-5.
