Jayden Ojeda Tests Australian Formula 4

Jayden Ojeda made his debut in Formula 4 machinery this week with CAMS organising an exclusive test day for Formula 4 teams at Sydney Motorsport Park.

Jayden Ojeda, currently sitting second in the Australian Formula Ford Series standings, tested an AGI Sport prepared Formula 4 for the first time. The Penrith teenager used the test as an opportunity to evaluate his 2018 racing plans.

“Jayden showed us exactly why he has such a bright future. A true professional both in and out of the race car” said Adam Gotch, Managing Director of AGI Sport.

AGI Sport ran three cars in both wet and dry conditions with all team drivers completing over 90 laps, over 1000 km of testing across the three team cars in one day.

“It was really exciting to test an Australian Formula 4 car for the first time. With myself and AGI Sport based in Sydney and a test day here at Sydney Motorsport Park, it was a good opportunity to have a taste of what a Formula 4 car’s like,” Ojeda said.

“Massive thanks to Adam Gotch and the crew at AGI Sport for making it happen. I enjoyed learning about the car with them. It was great to try something different, I really enjoyed the day, getting in over 90 laps in changing conditions.”

While this Formula 4 experience was his first, he was familiar to many in the Formula 4 community having competed against the likes of Cameron Shields and participated in the CAMS Academy programmes in 2014, 2015 and 2016 alongside Josh Denton.

Ojeda has a strong karting background, with Victorian, New South Wales and Queensland state titles to his name. Most recently, he was crowned KF3 Australian Champion in 2014 and represented Australia in the Pro Tour Rotax Series in Spain.

Jayden Ojeda is proudly supported by VHT, SMS Diesel Spares, Sakura Filtration, Febi, Engine Sensors Australia, OE Germany, Pure Traveller, AMC, Valley Fitness St Marys, Stone Gaskets, Mahle-Izumi and CH Robinson Freight Forwarders.
