Ojeda’s Double Up on the Mountain

JAYCO Nissan Altima driver Jayden Ojeda remains third in the Super2 championship, by just 6 points, after a wild weekend in the Dunlop Super2 Series in Sydney, having achieved a track record pole position on Saturday.

Jayden ultimately left Sydney Motorsport Park (SMP) with an 8th position in race 1, after contact on the first lap sent him off track and down the field. He recovered from 21st position to finish in the top 10. The 2nd race on Sunday was abandoned due to the treacherous conditions, where Jayden’s car got crashed by a car spinning into turn 2.

The Dunlop Super2 Series season will finish at the marquee Repco Bathurst 1000, which will be held from December 1st – 5th, where Jayden will fight for a series podium in Super2 and will be on double duties driving in the Bathurst 1000 with Matt Stone Racing in Australia’s greatest race.

Jayden’s on track schedule at Mount Panorama stretches over 5 days, from Wed Dec 1st through to the Great Race on Sunday Dec 5th. This includes two qualifying sessions and two 100km races in his JAYCO Altima Super2, as well as three one hour co-driver practise sessions in the Matt Stone Racing Yellow Cover #35 Supercar.

“I am really excited to getting back on the Mountain this week, there is nowhere like it,” said Jayden. “It’s one of the world’s great circuits and I am looking forward to plenty of laps, it’s going to be massive. To have the opportunity to do double duties and to make my second Supercars Repco Bathurst 1000 start is amazing. I’m so excited, who doesn’t love Bathurst?” Ojeda added.

“To be racing the#31 JAYCO Nissan Altima for Matt White Motorsport and fighting in the top 3 of the Dunlop Super2 Series, as well as co-piloting the #35 Yellow Cover entry with Zane Goddard at this year’s Bathurst 1000 is fantastic, I cannot wait, bring it on. I’m thrilled to be teaming up with Zane for the Bathurst 1000 in the #35,” said Jayden.”

“I’m really thankful for the opportunity offered by MWM and MSR and all my team that have made this possible. A special thanks to JAYCO and MWM team owner Matt White, that have allowed this all to happen”.

“I have been focussed on my preparation going into the event, I am doing everything I can to ensure I am giving myself a chance, I am as fit as I have ever been” he said. “I completed two test sessions in the #35 Yellow Cover Commodore at Sydney Motorsport Park last week. I am at home in my JAYCO Super2 car, but the balance is a little different in the MSR #35 car, but I am feeling more comfortable every lap and we have made steady progress”.
