Ojeda Rules Rookies in Adelaide
Super2 Series racer Jayden Ojeda has enjoyed rookie success in the Dunlop Super2 Series at the Superloop Adelaide 500.
Ojeda, making his Super2 debut, finishing ninth in the first race after starting from twelfth position, but he found his rhythm in Race 2, moving up to fourth place. In an incident packed Race 3, Ojeda dodged most of the carnage to take fifth place and finish as the highest placed rookie for the weekend.
“I had an awesome weekend with the MW Motorsport boys,” said Ojeda.
“They gave me an awesome car, and I learnt a lot, moved my way through the field, just hanging off the back end of the experienced boys, which was the main objective.”
“My highlight for the weekend was definitely being the best placed rookie. That is a great achievement and getting fourth in Race 2 was awesome as well.”
Last year’s Super3 Series runner-up 20-year-old Ojeda was a last-minute addition to the Dunlop Super2 grid for 2020, steering a third MW Motorsport Nissan.
“I really need to thank my sponsors Jayco, Visa Global Logistics and AJM for getting me here, it really came down to the last minute” added Ojeda,
“We had a pretty solid weekend, and considering we have three new drivers this year, I couldn’t be prouder of the young fellas,” said team owner Matt White.
Round 2 of Super2 supports the Tyrepower Tasmania Super400 at Symmons Plains on April 3-5.
