Ojeda re-signs with Matt Stone Racing for Supercars Enduros
Jayden Ojeda will continue with the Truck Assist Racing Supercars Championship team as a co-driver this year, pairing up with Jack Le Brocq.
The 23-year-old will make his fourth start in the Repco Bathurst 1000 in October in what is his third consecutive endurance campaign with Matt Stone Racing.
Having debuted in 2020, Ojeda drove in the 2021 Great Race alongside Zane Goddard, before sharing with Todd Hazelwood last year.
“I’m stoked to be joining Matt Stone Racing for what will be my third year co-driving with the team,” said Ojeda.
“The team and I have made a strong connection over the past few years so I am looking forward to building on that this year.
“Awesome to be partnering up with Jack Le Brocq - both him and the team have started the year really strong with what looks to be fast cars.
“It will be great to work with Jack Bellotti again as our race engineer who was my race engineer for our Bathurst 6 Hour car.
“I’m confident that throughout the year the team will continue this momentum and come enduro season JLB and I will make a strong combination.”
Ojeda has been in race-winning form in his GT World Challenge Australia campaign this season, most recently at Phillip Island last weekend.
The Sydney-sider is fresh off the back of a sensational outright win in the Bathurst 6 Hour production car race at Mount Panorama in April.
In that event, he worked with Jack Bellotti, who is also the Race Engineer on the #34 Truck Assist Chevrolet Racing Camaro of Le Brocq.
Team Owner, Matt Stone, believes Ojeda will compliment the already strong partnership between Bellotti and Le Brocq.
“We are pleased to welcome Jayden back as a Truck Assist Racing co-driver for a third year in a row,” said Stone.
“Jayden knows the team well and fits in seamlessly, which provides a lot of continuity.
“We have invested a lot of time in him over these years as an MSR driver and look forward to pairing him up with Jack Le Brocq for the enduro season in 2023.
“They are both driving very well and will be a strong combination at Sandown and Bathurst.”
Le Brocq is off to a flying start in his 2023 campaign, with a number of top 10 finishes to his name already.
It leaves him perched 10th in the Driver’s Championship heading into Round 4 in Tasmania. “I’m really excited to have Jayden back in the MSR fold for 2023,” added Le Brocq.
“He did a ripper job throughout 2022, so I believe we will be a very strong combo come enduro time.
“Jayden will be getting plenty of miles throughout the year in GT3 cars so he’ll be a really strong asset for the MSR team.”
This year’s Supercars enduro campaign sees the return of a 500km race at Sandown as a precursor to the Bathurst 1000.
Ojeda and Le Brocq will first officially pair up at the Sandown 500 from September 15-17, before the Bathurst 1000 from October 5-8.
MSR will be completing pre-enduro testing with both cars before the Sandown 500.
