Jayden Shines in Queensland
Jayden Ojeda has completed his second clean sweep weekend in a row jumping to the lead of the 2018 CAMS Payce Australian Formula 4 Championship.
With three consecutive race wins, two pole positions and fastest lap Jayden has completed a perfect weekend in round 3 of the CAMS PAYCE Australian Formula 4 Championship at Queensland Raceway on 20-22nd July.
It’s an impressive streak by the AGI Sport driver, who has been the fastest driver in every session since the Castrol Pole Position battle at Phillip Island last month. Jayden also secured back-to-back Castrol Pole Position awards and won race two from 5th position on the reverse grid, after a storming drive through the pack.
Jayden has now won six races in a row to prove historically one of the most dominant drivers the Australian Formula 4 Championship has ever seen. The previous category record was four races in the history of the Australian Formula 4 Championship.
“What more can you ask for from the weekend, coming away with the championship lead as well with a little bit of a buffer makes it feel a bit better as well,” Jayden said. “This weekend definitely shows we have got something in store for the rest of this year”.
Jayden now takes a 25-point lead in the championship ahead of rival BRM driver Cameron Shields.
Winton Motor Raceway will next host the CAMS PAYCE Australian Formula 4 Championship’s double-round (Rounds Four and Five) on September 1–2, with crews to tackle six races across the Shannons Nationals weekend.
